Although some couples remain amicable when they decide to end their marriages, the whole experience remains an unpleasant experience for many. Most New York residents would probably prefer to get it over and done with so that they may move forward and build a new future. However, sometimes there are elements of the divorce that end up dragging out the arduous process.
With the frenzy among fans of the Chicago Cubs rising to a feverish apogee, tickets to a game at the World Series have become an extremely hot — and scarce — commodity. That frenzy spilled into a local divorce court, where the issue of tickets to the game have come up. A mother recently submitted what amounted to an emergency petition for tickets to go to Game 5.
The judge said that the tickets to the game were held by the woman’s estranged husband. After a series of in-court arguments, the judge decided that the husband may keep his tickets for himself and their 12-year-old son. However, it was also ruled that the husband must pay for another ticket for his estranged wife that is in a comparable section to what he had purchased — the cheapest of which starts around $3,000.
Divorce is often a trying time for the estranged couple, as well as any children that may be involved. Emotions typically run high, and sometimes, there is a great deal at stake financially. In order to avoid going through this kind of stressful experience alone, many New York residents choose to enlist the help of a seasoned professional who can also ensure that the spouse’s interests are fully protected.
